Student, Post- Graduate & Training Visa
Visas for a student to visit Australia (study a course or program, at an educational center or university) or visas for a graduated to continue working in Australia after graduation.
1. Student visa subclass 500
International student study and work in Australia maximum 5 years.
- Stay inside or outside Australia to lodge valid application
- Proof of enrolment (the electronic confirmation of enrolment).
- Academic and work experience documents.
- Evidence of your English proficiency skills (IELTS).
- Evidence of financial ability (tuition fees, living expenses, expenses for dependents, return airfare).
- Health insurance policy (Overseas Student Health Cover).
- Statement of purpose in education.
- Evidence acceptant from the university, college or education centers in Australia.
2. The Student Guardian (Subclass 590)
To stay in Australia for providing care and support for a student visa holder who is under 18 years of age.
- In or outside Australia to lodge a valid application for this visa.
- The length of your visa will be determined by the student visa holder’s stay and their age.
- A parent, a custodian or a relative (aged 21 years or older).
- Nominated in writing by a parent or person who has custody of the student.
- Allow to study an English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) for less than 20 hours per week, or any other study or training for no more than 3 months.
- Not allowed to work.
- Allow stay until the length of the student visa holder’s stay or when that student turns 18.
- Evidence of financial ability (living expenses, expenses for dependents, tuition fees, return airfare).
3. Training visa subclass 407
Training program with a designated sponsor in Australia.
- Stay inside or outside Australia to lodge valid application.
- Allow to live in Australia to complete a workplace-based training.
- Allows to stay in Australia for up to two years.
- Must be at least 18 years of age unless you can demonstrate that exceptional circumstances exist.
- Have a sponsor who is or has applied to be a temporary activities sponsor.
- Nominated to participate in the sponsor’s nominated program of occupational training.
- Nominated program must be offered as a genuine training opportunity.
- Meet one of the three eligibility types: Occupational training required for registration, enhance skills or capacity building overseas.
- English functional skills.
- Sufficient funds to cover the cost of staying in Australia.
- An approved sponsor and nomination are required for this visa.
4. Graduate visa subclass 485 – Graduate Work Stream
Live, study and work after finished the studies in Australia
- Stay inside Australia to lodge valid application.
- Stay in Australia for a maximum of 18 months from date of grant of visa.
- Either hold a valid Student visa (subclass 500) or have held a Student visa in the last 6 months before your application and now hold a Bridging Visa A, Bridging Visa B or a substantive visa.
- IELTS overall Band 6 or equivalent.
- Completed 2 academic years of study.
- Nominate an occupation in the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
- Evidence that you have applied for skills assessment.
5. Temporary Graduate visa subclass 485 – Post Study Work
A permanent visa for invited workers and New Zealand citizens with skills that Australia needs, to live and work permanently anywhere in Australia
- Stay inside or outside Australia to lodge valid application.
- Either hold a valid Student visa (subclass 500) or have held a Student visa in the last 6 months before your application and now hold a Bridging Visa A, Bridging Visa B or a substantive visa.
- IELTS overall Band 6 or equivalent.
- Nominate an occupation in the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
- Completed Bachelor (Honors) Degree; Masters by Coursework Degree; Masters by Research Degree; Masters (Extended) Degree and/or , Doctoral Degree.
